Manuka honey

I could not go to New Zealand without tasting the famous Manuka honey!
Manuka honey has a very good reputation around the world because of its remarkable taste but also because of its antioxidant, antibacterial and antiseptic properties.
I have often read that Manuka honey is very strongly recommended to prevent and cure common diseases such as bronchitis, colds, tonsillitis, etc.
And that’s not all! Manuka honey also improves the body’s healing process against wounds and promotes healing of wounds by its antibacterial action.
It comes from the white flowers of the Manuka tree that grows in wild areas of New Zealand and bees pollinate them.
What you need to know is that Manuka honey has different levels of UMF (Unique Manuka Factor).
Basically, the higher the UMF level, the more the therapeutic benefits are.
Its price also depends on its level of UMF.
Having no serious illness or tend to be sick I took a 15+ index out of curiosity (it goes between +5 and +25).
I must say that its texture is as dense as other honeys that I could taste but its color is golden and totally opaque.
Its taste is certainly yes, very sweet but curiously much less than a honey said more ordinary.
And where I was completely blown away is by its antibacterial action.
I often have wounds to the lips because I bite my lips constantly (especially when I am concentrated) and I recently had my lip split in two and extremely painful.
For two days in a row I applied Manuka honey on it and the wound completely healed and quickly closed.
I must say that it happened to me several times and normally it took a good week to heal.

I highly recommend Manuka honey despite its price which according to its UMF index can be very expensive!
